Dennis, Hospital Manager
Dennis is originally from the East Coast, where he completed a Master’s Degree in music. He has always had an affinity for furry friends, and most recently has been the manager of two different pet care providers, one in Philadelphia and one in Chicago.
Dennis currently lives in the Kenwood/Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago and is a proud South Side resident. Dennis still performs extensively in the area when he isn't splitting his time between South Loop and East Side. He spends his free time with his partner, Mitchell, and their rescued cat Norma.
Allison, Head Veterinary Technician
Allison attended the Vet Tech Institute at Fox College and graduated in December of 2011. Although South Loop Animal Hospital is the first hospital Allison has worked at, she has always had a love and passion for animals. When not at work, you can catch Allison relaxing with pets, studying, watching movies, discovering new music, and enjoying time with friends. She enjoys spending time with her fancy orange cat, Bird.
Jessica, Veterinary Technician
Jessica is an industry veteran with more than 20 years experience. She holds an Associate in Science degree from South Suburban College. A native of the south suburbs, Jessica has lived in the South Loop with her husband Eric since 2008. She is the proud parent of a rescue cat named Gary Butters. When not at work, Jessica is an avid reader and traveler and likes to hang out at the lakefront.
Ivelisse, Veterinary Technician
Ivelisse has been working with pets and in the verterinary field since she was a junior in High School! She is currently attending online courses through Penn Foster to become a certified technician. She is the human to two dogs, Fargo and Pixie, and also shares her space with a pink toed tarantula. She hopes to add a Rottweiler to her pack soon. When she isn't working, she enjoys playing sports, baking for her friends and family, and pet sitting.
Melissa, Veterinary Technician
Melissa comes to South Loop with a decade of experience working in vet clinics. She is originally from Chicago and completed her training as a Veterinary Assistant at Penn Foster. A mother of three, she spends her free time hanging out with her children. She has two dogs name Snowy and Shadow, and two fish named Ying and Yang.
Jen, Veterinary Assistant
Jennifer has been working in veterinary health for the past 3 years. She is originally from Chicago and attended North Park University where she received a degree in Biological Science. She is pursuing a Graduate Degree in Ecological Teaching and Learning with Lesley University. Jen shares her home with three dogs, two turtles, two geckos, and two frogs.
Jigar, Veterinary Assistant
Jigar, also known as J, the notorious JDD or just Jig, is a recent graduate of Illioins Institute of Technology. Fun fact: Jigar means "heart", and he is so named becuse he was born on Valentine's Day. He is a native of the north suburbs of Chicago, and will be attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to pursue study in Veterinary Medicine. When he isn't at South Loop, you can find him working out, playing video games, or indulging his guilty pleasure, Taco Bell.
KAteland, Veterinary Assistant
Kateland was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. She has a beautiful brown tabby named Master P that she shares her time with when she isn't taking care of the clients at SLAH. She hopes someday to own a haven for animals to provide them with the care they so richly deserve. She is currently studying Biology and hopes to use her degree to further her work caring for animals.
Lindsey, Customer Service Manager
Lindsey moved to Chicago from Michigan eight years ago. She grew up with animals and has been working in pet care for the last six years. Lindsey enjoys viewing and experiencing all types of art. In her free time, she loves to sew, bike, and travel. She loves exploring the Pilsen neighborhood, which she calls home, with her husband, Liam.
Mariah, Customer Service Representative
Mariah comes to South Loop with quite a bit of experience. She has been working in the veterinary field in some form or another since High School. She is a native Chicagoan and loves to find cool and out of the way places to explore in the city. She shares her life with her fancy feline, Penelope, and hopes someday to own some land so she can realize her dream of having 2 cane corsos and a pig. When she isn't at SLAH, you can find her watching scary movies or trying out a new recipe.
Riccardo, Customer Service Representative
Riccardo was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. Before coming to South Loop, he worked in a variety of pet care positions, including animal day care facilities, and he hopes some day to open his own doggy day care, called Ruh-Roh. When he isn't working at South Loop or ESVC, you can find hime watching the food network for inspiration on his next home chef creation, or chilling out listening to some of his favorite tunes. .
Katie, Customer Service Representative
Born and raised in Chicago, Katie has been working with animals for almost 20 years- she first started working in the pet care industry while in high school. After a long stint with the Champaign County Humane Society while at UIUC, she took a break from the industry, and explored working with human health care, law, and food service. Unable to resist the siren song of puppy kisses and kitten noses, she joined the South Loop team in 2019. When not working, she can be found drawing or painting colorful concentric patterns, working with the Co-Prosperity Sphere in Bridgeport, or being bossed around by her cat, Freddie Meowcury.
Lindsay, Customer Service Representative
Lindsay (yes, we have 2!) is originally from the Northwestern Indiana. She first started working in pet clinics in 2016 and has worked in both emergency and general practice. She has 3 fantastic pets of her own, a cat named Gypsy, a very friendly St. Bernard named Whiskey, and a Great Pyrenees named Trout. She is also no stranger to exotics, and has owned pets of the scaly, leathery, and feathery bent over the course of her life. When she isn't here at SLAH, you can find her enjoying local concerts and music, playing the drums, or gardening.
